Salvation

The Good News

Are you lost, hurting, broken?  Are you at the end of yourself and desire new life?  The Gospel message of Jesus Christ explains that we are all sinners-that we’ve offended God through our rebellion towards Him.  The Good News is however, that we can receive forgiveness for our sins and be born anew in the spirit as a new creation in Him.  The Living God invites us into a personal relationship with Him through faith in His Son Jesus Christ.  He guides us into this relationship in His Word to us-which we call the Bible.

Romans 3:23 “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Romans 6:23 “The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

John 3:3 “Jesus answered him, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.’”

John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Romans 10:9-10 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”

Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.”

Five Important Questions to Consider Concerning Salvation:

 1. Do you acknowledge you are a sinner?

2. Do you want forgiveness?

3. Do you believe Jesus died on the cross for you and rose again?

4. Are you willing to surrender your life to Jesus Christ?

5. Are you ready to invite Jesus into your heart to be the leader of your life?

If you answered yes to all five questions then new life and salvation are only a moment away.  You need only to call upon the Name of Jesus and He will respond to your plea.  There is no special prayer with certain words you need to pray but if you’d like some help you are welcome to use this prayer as a guide:

Lord Jesus, for too long I’ve kept you out of my life. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. No longer will I close the door when I hear you knocking. By faith I gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior. Amen.

If you prayed this prayer for the first time then welcome to the Kingdom of God!  We’d love to know and connect with you.  Please email and let us know about your decision and we’ll be in contact.  pastor@cottonwoodcreekchurch.org
